Mary Kay Phelps
Vice President, Communications, Marketing & Development
Mary Kay joined the Foundation in October 2001, and oversees all fund-raising, communication, and promotional initiatives emanating from the Foundation’s national headquarters. She previously served five years as senior director of direct response for the American Red Cross national headquarters, and six years with Craver, Mathews, Smith, the premier direct marketing consulting group working with major nonprofits.
James Maggio
Director of Communications
James has been with the Foundation for seven years, and has been in his current role since April 2001. He oversees all of the organization’s nationwide branding initiatives, including national media relations and its public service advertising campaign, to ensure quality and consistency of messaging. James’ branding experience includes previous work with United Way of Long Island and St. John’s University in Jamaica, New York.
